Want to organize a cleanup event? Here are two ways to do some good.

1. Organize an iLivehere Cleanup

Get together with friends, neighbors and co-workers to clean up a spot where you live. iLivehere serves Scott County and the surrounding community by providing cleanup supplies, such as bags and gloves, to groups that are ready to clean up. Want to request supplies for your cleanup? Visit www.ilivehereqc.org.

2. Orchestrate an Xstream Cleanup
This is more than a cleanup with a group of friends or co-workers. This is an event for which you're actively recruiting and managing volunteers from the community, and you need help with getting the word out. If this sounds like the type of event you want to organize, Xstream can help.

You're ready to orchestrate an Xstream Cleanup when:
  • You have selected an area that needs cleaning up, and where you have legal permission to do so;
  • You need more volunteers than you already have;
  • You are ready and willing to handle the volunteer registration process, including gathering information from volunteers via phone, e-mail and/or your own website before the event; and
  • You have a plan for hauling away and disposing of the debris from your event.
Think you're ready to run an Xstream Cleanup? Here's what we can do to help:
  • Help you connect with the organization(s) in the community that will provide cleanup supplies;
  • Help get the word out that you need volunteers via the Xstream Cleanup website, social media, e-news, and public relations;
  • Report your cleanup results to the community, celebrate your accomplishments, and use your good work to spur others to volunteer as well.
If this sounds like something you'd like to do, please send an e-mail to bwelvaert [at] wastecom.com. We'll help you get started.
